About Akua Amponsah-Adjei

Akua Amponsah-Adjei, PMHNP-BC, is a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner at Potomac Shores Mental Health and Wellness in Woodbridge, Virginia. The Mental Health & Wellness Clinic has additional locations in Maryland, Washington D.C., Colorado, and New Hampshire.

She received an undergraduate degree in nursing from James Madison University (JMU) in Harrisonburg, Virginia, and a graduate degree from The George Washington University (GW or GWU) in Washington, D.C.

Akua has many years of experience working with clients with serious mental health illnesses, substance abuse disorders, and other mental health issues. She also has vast experience working at inpatient psychiatric facilities and community-based mental health programs.

Her years of experience have given her the unique ability to assess the need for quality psychiatric care for clients with mental illness. The need to provide quality psychiatric care in the community is her primary goal and priority. She takes great pride in delivering quality and client-centered mental health care to all her clients.
